Academia de Linguas da Madeira (Machico)

Academia de Línguas da Madeira is the oldest and the largest school of languages on the Island. It is a non profit making association founded in 1976, and the main school is situated in the centre of Funchal (with 17 classrooms). We have small branches in Machico, Santa Cruz, Estreito de Câmara de Lobos, Ponta do Sol and Calheta.

 

The Academia offers languages courses including Portuguese as a foreign language and although it offers courses for adults,  our students are mostly children and teenagers who do languages as an extra curricular activity, It runs regular courses from mid September to mid-July and intensive courses in the Summer. It also runs semi-intensive courses on demand throughout the year

 

The Academia has 35 members in our staff, 25 of whom are  teachers.
